A smol tour into the development process behind "Santa's Last Stand"
After the new year i decided to take a "little break" and relax for a week or two and make a good update... Fast forward 2 months and i suddenly remember that i stated about giving more content in two months and i had no progress what so ever. After a mad scramble i have started a process of rebuilding the gameplay, map, guns. While also adding a sprinkle of fresh content.
This post's purpose is to let people interested in this game (if they even exist lol) an insight into things already done and more that (hopefully) will follow.
First of we have...
THE GUN JAMMING INDEFINITELY
This piece of garbage bug was persistent to stay in the game after my many attempts to gase into a abyssal horror of a reload node and repair it. The reload node in question is THIS
This bug has even spread out into two other weapons, causing them to have the same issue. But after God knows how long i am proud to annonce, that it is certainly, surely, onehundredprocently-is GONE FOREVER! And now the shotgun reload looks like this:
As stated before, yes, we have other weapons! those being a M16 and Glock 17. However, i will not show them in this post, it is a treat for a next post : )
SHOP
In the "patch 1.2" i have promised a shop that will allow you to buy upgrades. Good news, it is almost ready! Right now it allows player to replenish ammo, buy traps (currently there are only beartraps), and upgrade them and now you will have to upgrade the "ammo drop chance" from 0 to 2.5. More things should be for sale in the aforementioned store, for example: explosive barrels, manually activated traps and perhaps even some turrets. TOWER DEFENCE... EXCEPT YOU ARE THE TOWER THAT NEEDS DEFENDIN' (totally not a used trope)
Yep, the game is considered pseudo-tower defence! Where you get gold for killing and surviving and you spend said gold to be safer! For example, now maps are linear, and further you get in them, safer you will be!
There will probably be more than one gamemode, but "Last stand" is considered main. In "Last stand" you... uughh... have your
Last Stand® (lmao)
So you just survive for as long, as you can (or want) and be happy with the score you get. Each wave should be harder to survive, meaning further you get, more enemy types will appear, and their number will grow.
Also, i will remake textures and models to be less cringy and more enjoyable to the eye, perfect example being my beloved pump action Mooseberg 650!
And for our new map, suited for tower defence-y playstyle we got the Fort Jeremy! (it looks unfinished, because it is)
That should wrap this little tour into the project of a lazy human creature that is me, i will try to deliver this game good.
